The story
Restaurant Dostoevsky, at Bonner Wall 2 A in Köln, is a Russian kitchen that earned 1 Kochlöffel in the Schlemmer Atlas 2026. The restaurant stands on the corner of Bonner Wall and Bonner Straße, about five metres from the Linie 17 tram stop Bonner Wall.
Pelmeni are the dish to start with: small dough parcels filled with pork or beef, served boiled or fried as you prefer. The Kiewer Kotelett pairs a fried chicken breast with a herb butter filling, alongside mashed potatoes, young peas and carrots. For starters, the kitchen offers Olivier salad, a Russian-style potato salad, and canapés topped with salmon roe.
The dining room has wood paneling, wooden seating and gold-framed paintings, a setting that suits the broad Russian selection. The venue also includes a bar and a Kegelbahn, a bowling lane, and the team hosts celebrations in the house.
