The story
Pottkind, at Darmstädter Straße 9 in Cologne, earned one Michelin Star in 2026 for its modern cuisine. The kitchen cooks a single carte blanche menu with international influences.
The fixed menu changes several times a year with the produce available. Der Feinschmecker rated it 2.5 in 2026 and describes six courses that pair regional ingredients with outside inspiration. Pink prawns come with young almonds, fig leaves and asparagus ferment. Miéral pigeon arrives with radicchio, elderberries and liver bread. Fermented and preserved ingredients give the vegetarian courses depth. Vegetarians and guests with allergies should say so when booking, as vegan menus are not offered. The menu costs 135 euros.
The kitchen is compact and open, with counter seats facing the cooks. The mood is relaxed and neighborly rather than formal. A terrace connects the restaurant to the street life of the southern district, and the room is set up for conversation with the people at the stove.
The wine list runs to about 250 positions, from champagne and classics to lesser-known bottles, with German wines at the center. The pairing pours six 0.1 liter glasses, one per course, for 70 euros. A non-alcoholic pairing at the same price uses house-made lemonades, essences and shrubs, along with alternatives to sparkling wine.
