The story
Limbourg is a French kitchen at Limburger Straße 35 in Cologne, listed as Michelin Recommended for 2026. The restaurant sits in the Belgian Quarter, inside protected historic walls, and builds its multi-course menus on French technique with international ingredients.
The menus rotate every eight to ten weeks, so the courses below reflect one season's cooking. Guests choose a five-, seven- or nine-course menu, and each length has a vegetarian track. Prices run from 90 € for the five-course veggie menu to 160 € for the nine-course classic tasting. Wine pairings are available, and so is an alcohol-free version.
The classic lobster course pairs cauliflower with pistachio, ponzu and vanilla. Octopus comes with takoyaki, chorizo, saffron and katsuobushi. The vegetarian menu offers a burrata course with vegetables, pine nuts and basil oil, and a prickly pear course with quark and manuka honey.
The dining room has chandeliers and brick walls, and the first floor, known as the bel étage, hosts private celebrations. The Schlemmer Atlas awards Limbourg three chef's spoons for 2026. On the third Sunday of the month, the Dimanche de grand-mère brings a family-style lunch with platters passed between guests. It costs 55 € per person, drinks not included, and seats groups of up to 30.
