The story
Antonius-Schwaige, at Antoniusschwaige 47 in Ingolstadt, is a Bavarian kitchen that the Schlemmer Atlas awarded 1 Kochlöffel in 2026. The Wittmann family runs the house, serving home-style food in a traditional setting.
The menu leans on hearty dishes, and the Schlemmer Atlas singled out beef tartare, roast pork and dry-aged steaks. The kitchen says it avoids flavor enhancers, convenience foods and ready-made products. Ingredients are chosen for regional origin and prepared by hand each day.
Guests can eat in the cozy indoor dining room or in one of several rooms, including Der Saal, Das Salettl and Das Nebenzimmer. The beer garden sits in a courtyard shaded by old trees and ranks among the oldest and most beautiful in the Ingolstadt area. The same rooms host weddings, anniversaries and company dinners.
