The story
Mary Jane Space, at Poststr. 36/7 in Heidelberg, serves an international kitchen that the Schlemmer Atlas rated 3 Kochlöffel in 2026. The restaurant occupies the top floor of the old indoor swimming pool in Heidelberg-Bergheim.
There is no fixed card and no set menu. The kitchen cooks what is in season and what inspires the team on the day, and the evening is tuned to each guest's wishes, whether vegetarian or with fish and meat. Head chef Jonas Jenz leads a small team that takes advance bookings for a five- or seven-course Carte Blanche meal.
The kitchen is open, so guests sit close to the cooking and can watch the evening take shape. The room is deliberately spare. Der Feinschmecker, which gave it 2.5 in 2026, described its dim, unconventional light and shadow.
