The story
Die Kurfürstenstube serves classic French cooking at Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage 1 in Heidelberg, inside the Hotel Europäischer Hof. The restaurant holds a 2026 Michelin Recommended listing, and its summer menus follow the French tradition at the heart of its kitchen.
Daniel Stelling leads the kitchen and keeps to the French classics. From spring, the restaurant offers evening summer menus of three or four courses, alongside an à la carte selection. The summer restaurant runs from late April to mid-September.
The menu has included pan-seared scallops in a velouté foam with garden herbs, and wild-caught prawns with avocado cream and cocktail mousse. Tender beef from pasture-raised cattle comes with a Madeira chive cream sauce. The wine list covers German and international bottles across a range of quality levels and vintages.
The garden restaurant has a stylish, understated design, and the old-town setting adds historical wood paneling and decorative wood inlays. On fair days, guests can dine on the terrace. The restaurant also offers catering and private dining.
