The story
Heritage Restaurant in Hamburg serves a Mediterranean kitchen with world cuisine influences at An der Alster 52-56, 20099 Hamburg. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2,5 Kochlöffel in 2026, and the restaurant sits on the ninth floor of the hotel, overlooking the Outer Alster and the city center.
Patrick Weber has led the kitchen since 2025. He describes his aim as honest, creative cooking built on good ingredients and careful technique. The grill is the restaurant's center of gravity: steaks are cooked over open fire on an 800° US Southbend broiler, then finished with Murray River salt flakes.
Schleswig-Holstein dry-aged Entrecôte and Toryama A5 Wagyu rump share the menu with lightly seared hamachi, served in a bouillabaisse broth with rouille. For guests who skip meat, a red Thai curry with broccoli and pepper berries is listed as vegan, and the pfifferlings ravioli comes with yuzu and tomato. Desserts lean toward chocolate and citrus, including a crème brûlée with pecan biscotti.
The rooftop bar is where the day turns into evening, with the sundown view over the Alster as the draw. Axel Herz has been on the service team since 2003 and has welcomed guests at the rooftop bar as bar chef since 2023. For private dinners, the Club Room offers a smaller, more secluded space.
