The story
Inselgasthof Nass, at Grietherort 1 (46459 Rees) in Emmerich, is a family-run German restaurant that received 1.5 Kochlöffel from the Schlemmer Atlas in 2026.
Plaice, pike-perch, sole, turbot and eel are prepared to traditional house recipes, along with other sea and freshwater fish. Meat dishes sit alongside the seafood, and game often joins the menu in autumn and winter. The wine list leans toward German growers.
The Nass family has owned the inn for more than 175 years. Christian Nass now runs the restaurant and hotel as the third generation. The dining room and terrace look over the Rhine, about 50 meters from the riverbank, and the rooms seat 80 to 130 guests.
