The story
Münstermanns Kontor is a French and international bistro at Hohe Straße 11 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good-quality, good-value cooking.
The menu changes from day to day, and the kitchen pairs classic French preparations with dishes from further afield. Recent offerings include a Provençal fish soup with house-made rouille, a Thai chicken soup with lemongrass and coconut milk, and a Vitello Tonnato with thin slices of pink-roasted veal. Fish sticks of cod come with remoulade and a lemon-and-white-wine foam.
The restaurant traces its beginnings to 1885, when siblings Dina and Wilhelm Münstermann opened an egg stall on Düsseldorf's market square. The Schlemmer Atlas awards it two Kochlöffel for 2026, and describes a lively, unpretentious room where lunchtime queues form. Some dishes are also sold to take away, so the kitchen's cooking can travel home.
