The story
Grande Étoile at Bastionstraße 16 in Düsseldorf cooks French cuisine with Mediterranean leanings, and the Schlemmer Atlas rated it 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026. It sits between the Rhine and the Kö.
The menu opens with oysters from the Oosterschelde, served with shallot vinaigrette and lemon, or with a glass of champagne. The bisque carries lobster and ajo blanco, and the beef tartare comes with piquillo peppers and a kataifi nest. Caviar and fries pairs 10g of Imperial Select sturgeon caviar with chips, Grana Padano and truffle mayonnaise.
Veal tenderloin is fried in lemon butter and plated with saffron and lime sauce, ratatouille and creamy polenta. Octopus arrives with ajo blanco and chorizo potato purée. The Boucherie section lists entrecôte, rumpsteak and filet mignon, plus a 600g Chateaubriand carved for one or two. Pasta includes tagliarini with freshly shaved truffle, a Mediterranean counterpoint to the French grill.
The look is Parisian chic, with the feel of an elegant salon. A private dining room, the Blauer Salon, and outdoor seating widen the options. On Friday and Saturday evenings a DJ plays. Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
