The story
Agata's, at Kirchfeldstraße 59 in Düsseldorf, is a seasonal kitchen with a world-cuisine outlook that earned one Michelin star in 2026. Hostess Agata Reul runs the dining room and looks after guests at the tables herself.
Chef Marcel Förster takes inspiration from kitchens across the world, and his cooking often leans toward French classics. Turbot with asparagus and a beurre blanc finished with bacon is one example. He also builds more inventive plates, such as juicy Secreto pork with sweet-and-savory plum and a homage to bean stew.
Agata Reul offers two menus, one of them vegetarian. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, dishes from both can also be ordered à la carte. The evening format can run to as many as seven courses. Sommelier Sharin Polte, formerly at Skykitchen in Berlin, now leads the wine selection.
Comfortable armchairs and modern lighting set the room. Schlemmer Atlas gave the evening 3.5 Kochlöffel for its overall package. Despite the high standard of the cooking, the mood stays relaxed and almost homely, shaped by close contact between guests and the staff at the tables.
