The story
Sterneck is the Michelin-starred restaurant of the Badhotel Sternhagen, at Cuxhavener Str. 86 in Cuxhaven, Germany. The kitchen works in German cooking with French and Spanish influences, and it earned one Michelin star for 2026. The dining room sits directly on the Duhnen promenade.
Marc Rennhack leads the kitchen, and fish and seafood anchor the classic menu. His dishes are built around the North Sea. A kingfish tartare comes with sustainably farmed shrimp from Neue Meere, served with renclode plum, Chinese cabbage and yogurt.
North Sea sole arrives with regional crab. Norwegian scallops are paired with octopus, bell pepper and head lettuce. The kitchen's highlight is North Sea turbot, served with parsley root, Treviso radicchio and cured beef ham.
Sommelier Anika Feldmann oversees a cellar of around 500 wines, and guests can book tours of it. The room has white tablecloths and views across the North Sea. Schlemmer Atlas awarded the restaurant 4 Kochlöffel for 2026, and its reviewers singled out the sea air, the Wadden Sea and the large ships sailing into the Elbe.
