The story
Das Esszimmer in Celle serves French and modern cuisine at Hostmannstraße 37, in the centre of town. The Michelin Guide listed it as Recommended in 2026, and the restaurant also has a garden terrace for the warmer months.
Chef David Hoven leads the kitchen, working alongside host Patrick Berger. The menu runs from refined starters and hearty soups to fish, meat and poultry, vegetarian plates, and desserts or cheese. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded two Kochlöffel for 2026, praising a compact à la carte and a menu of up to five courses.
An Asian week menu was scheduled for 18 to 22 March 2026, with five-course dishes such as five-spice prawns, tom kha kai soup and baked pangasius with malt teriyaki dip. A three-course menu was priced at 57.40 euros and the five-course version at 89.90 euros. Wine pairings and a non-alcoholic pairing are available, with each drink poured at 0.1 litres.
The terrace takes on a Mediterranean feel in summer, while the interior is warm and furnished with modern pieces. The space also hosts private dining, company events, weddings and family celebrations by arrangement. Parking is available directly in front of the building.
