The story
Lamm & Werkstatt at Pforzheimer Straße 15 in Bretten is an Italian and Mediterranean restaurant that the Schlemmer Atlas rated 1,5 Kochlöffel in 2026. The kitchen cooks pizza in a stone oven, and the house runs an enoteca with a curated wine selection. The rooms are a former workshop, and the restaurant has operated under the name since 1983.
Pizza from the stone oven anchors the menu, with homemade pasta and fresh salads beside it. Flammkuchen and antipasti also appear on the card. Classic dishes share the page with a rotating recommendation card of Mediterranean plates, which the kitchen prepares in a more modern style. On Thursdays there is no pasta, so the menu leans on pizza, flammkuchen, salads and antipasti.
The wine selection rests on many tastings carried out by the Marsala family. Guests can choose from a wine list that the Schlemmer Atlas singled out for its breadth and enthusiastic promotion. The team also keeps a daily special that changes often, so staff can tell you what came into the kitchen that evening.
The building is half-timbered and sits in the historic old town, and the rustic character of the old workshop shapes the room. The atmosphere is relaxed and straightforward. Parking is available on Sporgasse or Seedamm, and the Stadtbahn stop Bretten Stadtmitte is close by.
