The story
OX Taste of Now at Güldenstr. 7 in Braunschweig serves world cuisine inside a Renaissance half-timbered house, and the Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The menu takes cues from kitchens around the world and favors regional products where it can. Plating gets real attention here, on the principle that the eye eats too. Recent specials include a dry-aged pork chop with black tiger prawns and prawn bisque, and fried chanterelles with a chanterelle and bacon foam, both offered while stocks last.
Brunch runs on the first Sunday of each month, with over a dozen side dishes and a list of robust wines, according to the Schlemmer Atlas. In August, Thursday evenings bring grilled BBQ specialties to the terrace (20 and 27 August 2026), alongside the regular menu.
