The story
NaNum sits at Lindenstraße 90 in Berlin, a Korean restaurant that earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026. Its Korean Contemporary menu rests on fermentation, natural wine and a largely plant-based kitchen.
Jinok Kim, a former opera singer who also makes ceramics, runs the restaurant with her husband, Dirk Eicken. The kitchen works from Korean tradition and makes all of its fermentations in house, kimchi included. Most dishes are vegan, and fish appears on the menu without meat.
The Schlemmer Atlas gave NaNum two Kochlöffel for 2026, praising a cuisine that stays within authentic Korean tradition. The vegetables come from the garden of Jinok Kim. The main menu runs eight courses, either plant-only or plants with fish, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays a shorter five-course menu is offered. Dry-aged fish and seaweed also appear in the dishes.
Food is served on ceramics from Jinok Kim's own studio, earthy and irregular pieces that the restaurant treats as part of each plate. The building itself is architecturally notable. The upper floor holds the artist's exhibition space and atelier, which guests can visit.
