The story
Lavanderia Vecchia is an Italian restaurant at Flaughfenstrasse 46 in Berlin, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 1,5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
Renate and Andreas opened the restaurant in April 2010. The kitchen is now run by Iacopo, who comes from Spoleto and trained under Andrea Angelino. Lunch runs Wednesday to Friday with a short set menu that includes vegan dishes. In the evening, a five-course menu is served Wednesday to Sunday, with house wine from a Demeter-certified estate in the Abruzzi and olive oil from the Sabina region.
Exposed brickwork and a bare concrete floor remain from the building's time as a laundry. Clotheslines stretch across the dining area. The open kitchen is the centre of the room, and an old washing machine found in the attic now holds the tip money. After dinner, guests can have espresso and a digestivo standing at the Italian bar. The Gambero Rosso listed the restaurant with one fork in 2023.
