The story
eins44 cooks modern German and fusion food at Elbestraße 28 in Berlin's Neukölln district, and Der Feinschmecker gave it a rating of 3 in 2026. The restaurant sits in a former distillery, where the kitchen serves set menus with a vegetarian option alongside its meat and fish dishes.
Tim Tanneberger and Sebastian Leyer took over the stoves as new chefs, bringing experience from The NoName and Restaurant Macionga. Der Feinschmecker describes their cooking as playful, experimental and plant-led. One example is a seaweed pasta made with Hartweizen, nori and kombu, served in a vegetable and algae broth.
The current menu lists pointed cabbage with lovage and green tomato, skrei with caramelised onion and citrus beurre blanc, and rhubarb with koshihikari rice and shiso. Chawanmushi comes with sword mussel and Jerusalem artichoke, and imperial caviar can be added for an extra 29 euros. A five-course menu costs 64 euros, and a seven-course menu costs 89 euros.
Soft light from Bauhaus lamps and fresh flowers on the tables set the mood. Schlemmer Atlas notes an old tiled wall, high ceilings and large-format photographs, and awarded the restaurant 3 Kochlöffel for 2026.
