The story
Bob & Thoms, at Welserstraße 10 in Berlin, is a small modern French restaurant that earned three Kochlöffel in the 2026 Schlemmer Atlas. It seats only 12 to 15 guests each evening, and the kitchen builds on classic French technique.
Ruben Pahl leads the kitchen. He trained in several starred kitchens, including the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Starnberg, Fischers Fritz and Sky Kitchen. The cooking starts from classic French training, and he adds modern techniques and ingredients from around the world. Sourcing comes first: red beet from the Schorfheide is as sought after here as duck from Dombes.
Two dining rooms and a shaded terrace host dinners and private celebrations. The Schlemmer Atlas describes the space as unassuming and sparsely furnished, where substance outranks style. Host Oliver Körber, a Potsdam native with more than 30 years in the trade, runs the floor with easy charm and quick, professional service.
