The story
Eckerts Wirtshaus, at Obere Mühlbrücke 9 in Bamberg, serves Franconian cooking on the Regnitz and holds 1.5 Kochlöffel from the Schlemmer Atlas (2026).
The Regnitz runs on both sides of the house. Timber framing and rubble stone meet a modern dining area, and the terrace looks toward the Brückenrathaus and the Mühlenviertel. Inside, the Stube mixes Franconian and contemporary touches, with a counter beside the fireplace.
Evenings centre on handcrafted Franconian dishes built around regional ingredients. From Monday to Saturday, a small set lunch offers four dishes between noon and 2 pm. On Sundays and public holidays, the evening menu is served at midday. The house ECKERTS beer shares the taps with other draught beers from the Bamberg region.
