The story
Racine is a French cuisine restaurant at 6 Place Godinot, 51100 Reims, and earned two Michelin stars in 2026 for excellent cooking. The kitchen is built around one chef's precise hand and the produce of the Champagne region.
Kazuyuki Tanaka, who goes by Chef Kazu, was born in Japan and came to France to master French cuisine. He cooks vegetables, fish, meat and game from Champagne, and sometimes serves an ingredient in its natural state. His technique is rigorous and close to Japanese in its precision, a discipline he absorbed young because his parents ran restaurants on Kyushu.
The dining room is enclosed yet open to the city and countryside around Reims, and the kitchen stays visible without noise. Guests sit at one of four tables or on one of four counter seats facing the cooks, and Marine Tanaka welcomes them. The Marine menu runs six courses at €265, and the Kazuyuki menu is priced at €310.
