The story
Comme Chez Maman is a modern cuisine restaurant at 5 rue des Moines, in Paris's 17th arrondissement. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026.
Wim Van Gorp grew up in Flanders, near Antwerp, and trained with chefs including Alain Ducasse, Joël Robuchon and Jean-Georges. Trips to Tokyo, Hong Kong and New York brought back spices and unexpected pairings. He keeps French classics intact but adds them to his cooking, with recipes that rely on good technique rather than artifice.
The weekday lunch menu is 28 euros for three courses and changes with the market. For dinner, the Comme chez Maman menu is 55 euros, and "Le Chef décide" is 85 euros for five courses. The Smart Green Guide awards the restaurant one radish for 2026, which reflects its focus on fresh market produce.
The cellar, known as La cave, pairs with the menus. The restaurant also serves LA WIM, an unfiltered artisanal beer brewed in Belgium since 2015 to a recipe the chef developed. It is a pale, citrus-and-grain beer that works as an aperitif or alongside a meal.
