The story
Café César is a bistronomy restaurant at 30 rue Chance-Milly in Clichy, in the Paris area, and Michelin named it Recommended in 2026. Founder Charles Boixel opened it after 17 years in France's fine dining kitchens, including Robuchon, Le Squer, Gagnaire and Frechon.
A short prix-fixe lunch changes every week. A fuller menu, updated each season, runs at both lunch and dinner. Robin Fayet leads the kitchen, and Le Fooding's visit found a pâté en croûte with veal, foie gras and pistachios, plus beef cheeks served warm with a sharp sauce ravigote. Breakfast is also served.
Floor-to-ceiling glazing and a Mediterranean blue tile counter shape the dining room. When the weather is good, the terrace overlooking the cemetery seats up to 40 guests, and the neighbors, by Le Fooding's account, don't mind the noise.
