The story
Plage Plage is a crêperie, café and ice-cream workshop at 6 Rue de la Cavalerie in Arles, listed by Le Fooding in 2026. It sits a short walk from the train station.
Margaux Friocourt, a Parisian-Breton traveler who settled in Arles with an ice-cream diploma, runs the place. The sorbets and whole-milk ice creams use organic milk from an Auvergne farm. Flavors draw on named sources: coffee roasted by Cafar in Arles or Brûlerie Möka in Marseille, vanilla from Zanzibar, grapefruit grown in La Crau.
The crêpe side of the kitchen centers on buckwheat. Le Fooding points to a crisp galette as the right start before a scoop. The house also pours wine and tea, so the menu reaches beyond the griddle. The restaurant describes its ice creams as made from ingredients of the farm and the fields.
Inside, the dining room is tiled in mosaic. Outside, parasols shade the terrace, which suits a lunch or a takeaway cone. Le Fooding sums it up as the kind of place that leaves you one scoop closer to the seaside.
