The story
Natura is a Finnish restaurant at Iso Roobertinkatu 11 in Helsinki, listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026. It sits in the Design District, in a room designed by the architecture office Ateljé Sotamaa.
Fermenting, pickling, charcoal grilling, salting, and hot and cold smoking form the backbone of the kitchen. David shapes that approach with ideas drawn from Finnish nature, Helsinki itself and his travels. He also brings experience from Michelin one-, two- and three-star restaurants. The menu follows the seasons and changes daily.
Ingredients come from small Finnish and Scandinavian producers, with a focus on game, vegetables and sustainable seafood. In summer, much of the produce and many herbs come from the restaurant's own farm in Helsinki. This vegetable-led cooking earned 5 Radishes from the We're Smart Green Guide in 2026. A sample menu lists aged whitefish with blood orange and roasted coffee, and roasted pike perch from Liperi with cep sauce. Wild duck from Inkoo comes with organic oat risotto, and a carrot tarte tatin sits among the vegetable plates.
Three tasting menus run at €49 (Easy⁴), €69 (Dive In⁷) and €89 (All Out!). The first two can be made vegetarian, and Easy⁴ can be made vegan. Wine pairings start at €45. The list leans toward organic and biodynamic bottles, alongside craft cocktails and non-alcoholic options such as house-made iced teas and juices.
