The story
ManO2 is a contemporary Croatian restaurant at Radnička cesta 50 in Zagreb, rated 17 by Gault&Millau in 2026. Chef Hrvoje Kroflin leads the kitchen, and the menu follows the seasons closely.
The restaurant describes its approach as a constant search through local ingredients, strictly micro-seasonal and author-driven. Croatian culinary heritage is the starting point. Kroflin, named Great Chef of Tomorrow in the Gault&Millau Croatia 2024 selection, builds both the à la carte and tasting menus around what is available. Wild Adriatic fish and scampi from the daily catch are always offered, along with steaks and veal.
Cold-smoked steak tartare is one of the classics. So is the sea bass fillet, served with stewed broad beans, asparagus or another green vegetable of the moment. Veal is roasted slowly and served in its own sauce with a crepinette of bone marrow, Jerusalem artichoke and potatoes. Pastry chef Nika Čavlović contributes a Mochi of fennel, apple, peppercorns and black garlic, and a round, airy take on the traditional cream cake.
Lunch and dinner are relaxed, whether you sit in the interior or on the terrace in good weather. Service is discreet. Each dish arrives on different china, and the table is set with two extra virgin olive oils and homemade bread. A well-composed wine list backs up the menu, and wine pairing is available. Michelin also lists ManO2 as Recommended for 2026.
