The story
Elisa is a steakhouse at 1109 Hamilton St. in Vancouver's Yaletown district, and it earned a Michelin Guide Recommended distinction for 2026. The kitchen builds its menu around beef cooked over a wood-fired grill, with seafood alongside it.
Executive Chef Andrew Richardson came to Elisa after building the CinCin team in Vancouver. Earlier stops include Araxi in Whistler and Blink in Calgary. His experience with the Grillworks Infierno grill shapes the signature dishes, and the aim is to serve prime ingredients with little on the plate to hide behind. Beyond steak, the menu includes seafood, such as a yellowfin tuna tartare. While the dining room and grill are being upgraded, the steak selection is smaller for a short time, and the Elisa Supper Club menu is available.
The wine program centres on a floor-to-ceiling glass cellar with more than 6,000 bottles from the New and Old World, including California, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany and British Columbia. Wine Spectator gave the list its Best of Award of Excellence in 2019. The bar pours classic and signature cocktails, such as the Earl Grey Martini 2.0 with gin, amaretto, lavender and egg white, and it also offers a spirit-free menu.
