The story
Lin'eau in Waregem, at Koen Lisardestraat 19 in Sint-Baafs-Vijve, is a modern French restaurant that Gault&Millau scored 14 points for 2026.
Chef Baptiste Tieberghien cooks light, precise food with a preference for fish. The restaurant says he was named 2023 Viskok van het Jaar for his creative and sustainable approach to fish dishes. He now also carries the NorthSea Chef title, an ambassador role for responsible fish cooking and locally caught fish. The restaurant announces that he was named Eerste Kok van België for 2026.
The dining room sits in a restored flax-retting site, a building with a view over the Leie. Gault&Millau describes it as an industrial building with that river outlook. Air conditioning and outdoor seating are both available, so the room works in summer as well as in colder months.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, the kitchen serves only its six-course menu. Reservations can be made online and are confirmed immediately. Groups of up to 12 people can book, and the restaurant also hosts private parties and exclusive hire.
