The story
Le 54 is a lunch restaurant at Hondsstraat 54 in Tongeren, Belgium, and Gault&Millau awarded it 13.5 points in 2026.
Chef Ilse Motten runs the kitchen, and her partner Alain Danneels hosts the dining room. The couple first ran Hemelingen 27 for three years before taking on Le 54, which they kept for fifteen years. Gault&Millau praises the lunch formula for its strong balance of quality and price.
After the COVID closures, the owners reshaped Le 54 into a lunch room. It now serves lunch from Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant received a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2020, an award the owners highlight on their own site.
