The story
L'Art de Vivre serves modern French cooking at Avenue Reine Astrid 53 in Spa, and Gault&Millau awarded it 12.5 points for 2026.
The building dates from the early 1800s and stands on the corner of Square Maréchal Foch, beside the Parc des Sept Heures. Gault&Millau describes its old-fashioned charm, a style that recalls 19th-century living. In summer, guests sit on the shaded teak terrace around the fountain, near the herb garden. In colder months, the dining room with its warm tones and drapes takes over.
Gault&Millau says the kitchen joins tradition with creativity, and Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026. The website offers set menus of three, four and five courses, priced at 62, 74 and 79 euros. Jean-François Douffet welcomes guests with his team, and the restaurant says its cellar is part of the path from kitchen to table.
