The story
Den Silveren Harynck, a classic cuisine restaurant listed under Nieuwkerken-Waas, is at Grote Baan 51 in Sint-Niklaas, and Gault&Millau awarded it 12.5 points in 2026.
Luc Van Landeghem has long been the face of the house, and his son Sam now runs the kitchen. The cooking leans toward North Sea fish, while meat dishes stay deep and savory. The team describes the approach as a balance between classicism and modernism. The menus change weekly with seasonal produce, and guests who skip alcohol can ask for alcohol-free pairings at the aperitif and with each course.
The à la carte includes a lobster tartare belle-vue with saffron and bottarga, and a North Sea turbot served with fried wheat and seasonal vegetables. Veal comes with salsify textures, madeira and roasted paprika. Foie gras is pan-fried and glazed with bishop's wine. The tasting menu closes with a Montmorency dessert made with vanilla and Haspengouw cherries.
The restaurant also hosts private events for up to 40 guests, from communions and anniversaries to business seminars. The team can build a set menu around a group's budget and taste, and a fully enclosed garden allows children to play during dinner. Michelin lists the house as Recommended for 2026.
