The story
Le Bistrot d'en Face serves country cooking at rue de la Goffe 8 in Liège, and the Michelin Bib Gourmand (2026) recognises its good quality, good value cooking. Gault&Millau awarded it 13 points the same year.
The terrine de foie gras is made in house and comes with warm brioche and fig confit. Snails in garlic and parsley butter are flamed with absinthe, and the boulets à la liégeoise arrive in a black pan with a homemade compote.
Gault&Millau describes the room, tucked into an alley in central Liège, as calling to mind an authentic Lyonnais bouchon with a Belgian soul. The kitchen leans on oven-cooked dishes, including a jambonneau with béarnaise and a cassoulet blanc served in a Le Creuset pot. Outdoor seating is available.
