The story
Le Métro is an Italian restaurant in La Louvière, Belgium, at Rue Marchand 2 in Strépy-Bracquegnies, and it earned a Gault&Millau score of 12.5 in 2026. Chef Rita and her partner Giuseppe run the dining room together.
Rita was born in Sicily and cooks Italian food from north to south, with particular attention to Sicilian dishes. Her recipes come from her mother and appear in fresh pasta, aperitif tastings and desserts. Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026, and the menu changes with the seasons and the chef's mood.
The wine list draws on bottles from Sicily, Tuscany and Piedmont, with prices from about 35 to 150 euros. Bellomo Gin, made by the restaurant, is served at aperitif with an Italian tonic and carries a surprising note of green pea.
