The story
Les Deux, in Heist-op-den-Berg, is a modern French restaurant at Astridlaan 2 in Herenthout. Gault&Millau scored it 13.5 points for 2026, and the kitchen is run by chef Jan Van Rompaey with hostess Anke Luyten in the dining room.
Jan Van Rompaey cooks in the open kitchen, and he builds each plate around what suppliers deliver and what the season offers. The menu is fixed for lunch and dinner and changes with the availability of daily fresh produce. Anke Luyten welcomes guests personally and looks after the table.
The menu on the restaurant's site lists veal tartare with sweet and sour courgette, Zeeland mussels with celeriac and shallot, and sea bass with girolle, artichoke and Australian winter truffle. Langoustine arrives with bisque and kohlrabi, and the meal ends with a millefeuille of red fruit and chantilly. A cheese course can replace dessert for a supplement.
The restaurant describes itself as a living-room restaurant, and the room is small, warm and domestic. Michelin lists Les Deux as Recommended for 2026. Dinner runs as a five or six course menu, so the evening follows the kitchen's pace rather than a la carte ordering.
