The story
La Botte, at Europalaan 99 in Genk, is an Italian kitchen that earned one Michelin star in 2026. The restaurant is run by the Giacomazza family, whose Sicilian roots shape the menu.
Peppe Giacomazza leads the kitchen and gives the Italian repertoire its personal stamp. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 16.5 in 2026, praising an authentic cuisine that follows the seasons. The house describes its food as intense in flavour, with a pleasant mouthfeel and subtle aromas.
The Linguine Nerano comes with courgette flower, basil and Parmigiano Reggiano aged 48 months. The Risotto Pizza Margherita pairs Sicilian Datterino tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella. A raviolo opened over European lobster and ricotta, and an entrecôte with black garlic and girolles, round out the savoury side of the tasting menu. The signature tiramisu, served with cacao sorbet, closes the meal.
Gaspare guides guests through an Italian wine list that often includes bottles he imports himself through personal contacts. Many of the labels are small producers, and he can pair them with the tasting menu or arrange a wine consultation.
