The story
La Paix, at rue Ropsy-Chaudron 49 in Anderlecht, Brussels, is an Asian fusion restaurant that earned two Michelin stars in 2026. Chef David Martin runs the kitchen, and the dining room opens onto it.
Martin describes his cooking as warm yet unfussy, generous but refined. He says it is rooted in Belgium and open to the wider world. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 17.5 out of 20 in 2026, and Martin was named its Chef of the Year in 2019.
The website says the building is neoclassical and that the restaurant has operated there since 1892. Gault&Millau describes a former café in a historic slaughterhouse neighbourhood where contemporary art meets Japanese minimalism. Works by Charles Kaisin, Kasper Hamacher and Lana Ruellan are displayed in the room. The restaurant is air-conditioned and offers valet parking.
Guests can book the chef's table or add wine pairing to their meal. The venue also hosts private parties, offers catering and provides a private chef service. Takeaway is available. The website notes that La Paix moves to the Corinthia Hotel Astoria on Rue Royale from 15 September 2026.
