The story
La Belle Maraîchère is a seafood restaurant in Brussels at place Sainte-Catherine 11a, serving a classic Franco-Belgian kitchen that has operated since 1973. Gault&Millau gave it 14 points in 2026, and the Michelin guide listed it as Recommended that year.
The menu follows the seasons and leans on shellfish and fish. Starters include Fines de Claire and Zeeland oysters, grey shrimp salad with mayonnaise, and lobster salad with cocktail sauce. Main courses range from sole meunière and grilled Scottish salmon with shallot butter to braised wild turbot for two.
The Devreker family has cooked here from father to son, and the house describes its approach as the right product, the right cooking and a fair price. The restaurant occupies a building dated 1759 on the place Sainte-Catherine, in the Quartier des Poissonniers. Desserts stay with the classics, such as crème brûlée with blonde candy sugar and crêpes Suzette flamed with Mandarine Napoléon.
The dining room keeps a bistro character, and separate banquet and private rooms host family dinners, meetings and ceremonies. The wine list carries more than 150 references, chosen to suit both casual drinkers and experienced wine lovers. A gourmet menu at €88 and a market menu at €56 are ordered by the whole table.
