The story
Flamme is a bistro and country cooking restaurant at Rue de Roumanie 56 in Saint-Gilles, Brussels, and it earned a Gault&Millau score of 13 in 2026.
Flames, charcoal and a smoker oven run the open kitchen, so guests can watch the cooking happen. The lunch menu has included beetroot with Béarnaise sabayon and dill, served with a thick slice of Boulengier bread, and roast pork shoulder with mashed potatoes and pickled onions. In the evening, the list has featured Menapii pork sausage with gravy and BBQ sea bass with leeks and wasabi.
Original tiling and 70s furniture fill the room, and a windowed wine cellar sits in view. The restaurant was briefly called Saussice before it became Flamme, and the typography by Bureau Wolewinski carried over. Vegetables come from the local Terroirist cooperative and meats from Dierendonck.
