The story
La Régalade is a modern cuisine restaurant in Arlon, at Burewee 26 in Toernich (6700), and Gault&Millau awarded it 14 points for 2026. The restaurant occupies a renovated farm, where a seasonal kitchen and a warm dining room sit side by side.
Eddy Mertes leads the kitchen, and his inventive cooking is recognised by both Gault&Millau and Michelin, which lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026. The dishes follow the garden and the season, with a wide range of spices and aromatics. The menu changes every six to eight weeks, so the card tracks what the land is producing. Gault&Millau singles out the balance on each plate, citing trout with orange and basil coulis as an example.
The building was the farm of the chef's grandparents. Guests pass through the reception and lounge into the old barn, which now has a bright extension. Contemporary décor carries earthy tones from the region, and Sandrine, who comes from this area, runs the room. She suggests the wine for each course and puts together a generous selection of regional cheeses.
The dining rooms can be booked for private parties and business events. The layout adapts to the number of guests, from seated tables to a dînatoire-style buffet, and an aperitif can be served on the terrace.
