The story
L'Amitié is a fusion bistro-bar at Vlaamsekaai 43 in Antwerpen, and Gault&Millau scored it 13 in 2026, noting a fresh direction under new chef-owner Stijn De Smet.
The kitchen suggests three or four dishes per person, so the meal becomes a run of small plates rather than one main choice. The menu changes often. Recent dishes include sea bass tartare with truffle and shiso, bluefin tuna with avocado and dashi, and artichoke ravioli with pecorino and beurre blanc. For a larger plate, there is dry-aged Holstein ribeye with seasonal garnish. The Chef's Choice sharing menu at €60 per person brings three appetizers, two cold dishes and two hot dishes.
The restaurant sits on the Vlaamse Kaai in 't Zuid, and it has outdoor seating. The wine list offers 10 to 15 wines by the glass, selected by the sommelier. Michelin added L'Amitié to its Bib Gourmand list in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking. Sundays are reserved for private events, for groups of 30 to 48 guests.
