The story
Hofke van Bazel is a seasonal French restaurant at Koningin Astridplein 11 in Bazel, near Antwerp, and it holds one Michelin star (2026). It is a fine dining room with luxury suites, open for lunch and dinner on most days.
Kris De Roy, a Belgian Mastercook, has cooked here since 1999, first as chef de cuisine and later as co-owner with Gina Miurin. His cooking is green and inventive, built on the latest techniques and a focus on pure flavour. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 15 points in 2026 and praised the couple's work over more than 25 years.
Many ingredients come from the restaurant's own vegetable and herb garden in the Polders of Kruibeke. Guests can begin with a sparkling aperitif in the cave à vin, which holds classic and New World bottles. The restaurant also offers vegetarian and vegan dishes and wine pairing.
