The story
Bistrot du Nord is a brasserie at Lange Dijkstraat 36 in Antwerpen, awarded one Michelin Star in 2026 for high quality cooking.
Chef Michaël Rewers takes the flavors of classic French cooking and gives them a modern twist. He works with seasonal ingredients and carefully chosen produce. Gault&Millau scores the kitchen 16 in 2026 and describes a cuisine rooted in Belgian culinary culture, served in an intimate bistro near the Sint-Jansplein.
Starters include foie gras terrine, veal brain tartare and a croquette of Ostend shrimp. Oosterschelde eel in green herbs and Gillardeau oysters, sold by the piece, sit alongside them. Mains lean toward meat: a côte de boeuf from an old dairy cow for two, grilled veal kidneys Stroganoff, and a blanquette of Duroc de Batallé pork with neck and crispy ear.
The setting is a traditional French bistro, with wooden paneling and timeless details in the dining room. Caroline Stasseyns leads the front of house with her team and sets a warm, easy tone.
