The story
The Elderflower, a modern British and French restaurant at 4-5 Quay Street in Lymington, holds 3 AA Rosettes (2026) for its fine-dining cooking and is listed as Recommended in the Michelin Guide (2026).
Husband and wife team Andrew and Marjolaine Du Bourg opened the restaurant on 7 March 2014, each with over 20 years in kitchens in England and France. Head Chef Andrew reworks the menu often, pairing new flavours as the seasons change. The kitchen sources local produce, and the dishes follow what is available.
The chef's tasting menu is fixed, with 4, 5 or 7 courses and no choice between them. Vegetarian and pescatarian versions can be arranged with notice. The June menu has included crispy pork belly with cauliflower purée and artichokes, and BBQ monkfish with spiced lobster velouté and brown crab gnocchi. For two, the sharing menu offers beef chateaubriand or a fruits de mer platter, but it cannot be combined with the tasting menu.
