The story
Al Mahara is a French, Italian and seafood restaurant on Jumeirah Beach Road, Umm Suqeim 3, in Dubai. Michelin awarded it one star in 2026 for high quality cooking.
The acclaim is not new. Al Mahara appeared on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list three years running, ranked 17th in 2002, 23rd in 2003 and 31st in 2004. The 2026 star shows the kitchen is still being judged at that level.
Al Mahara sits within Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, which is going through a phased restoration led by French architect Tristan Auer. His brief is to keep the hotel's gold leaf, Statuario marble and Swarovski crystal while refreshing the details. The restaurant itself offers a bar, a private room, outdoor seating and an interesting wine list. Seafood anchors the menu alongside the French and Italian repertoire.
