The story
La Table du Palafitte is the restaurant of Hotel Palafitte at Route des Gouttes-d'Or 2 in Neuchâtel, a classic cuisine address rated 14 points by Gault&Millau in 2026. It also appears in the Michelin Guide's 2026 selection as a Recommended restaurant.
Chef Ludovic Pigeat sends out a French-Asian inspired kitchen, in portions Gault&Millau finds often very small. The guide singled out a perfect onsen egg on leek, and a truffled cod on creamy celery risotto with citrus confit. A crisp millefeuille with exotic fruits ended the meal flawlessly. Scallops with champagne beurre blanc were less convincing, as black garlic dominated them.
The hotel's pavilions stand on stilts at the lake's edge, and the guide notes that the rooms seem to float above the water. The bright dining room opens onto a generous terrace, so tables outdoors are part of the setting.
