The story
Papavero is a Mediterranean restaurant at ul. 3 Maja 46 in Poznań, Poland, and Gault&Millau gave it a score of 11 for 2026. The restaurant has run since 2002, and its menu still leans on that long history.
The kitchen cooks with seasonal, high-quality ingredients and pairs them in unexpected ways. Scampi are flambéed with Polish craft gin, and octopus comes over confit potato with garlic aioli. A celery steak with green peppercorn sauce appears on the menu as a vegan option.
The famous duck with red cabbage has been served since the restaurant opened in 2002, prepared to an original recipe. Pasta, pyzy and ravioli are made by hand in the restaurant's own workshop.
The dining room sits in a renovated historic townhouse from the late 19th century. Dark green and gold dominate the interior, and numerous mirrors make the space feel larger.
A private room seats 12, which suits intimate family celebrations. Michelin lists Papavero as Recommended for 2026.
