The story
Vetter Essen & Trinken sits at Bopserstraße 18 in Stuttgart and cooks hearty country food with a Mediterranean streak. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
The menu is handwritten and rewritten each day, which the Schlemmer Atlas (2 Kochlöffel, 2026) describes as a mixed European selection that is above all tasty. Starters run from house-cured salmon with cucumber-coriander salad and rösti to potato gnocchi with porcini. Mains include Wiener schnitzel, venison goulash with bread dumplings, and rosy roast saddle of lamb. A Maultaschensuppe is among the soups.
The sweet list stays homely. There is crème brûlée, semolina slices with plum compote, and red berry grütze with cream. An affogato with vanilla ice cream and espresso closes things more lightly.
