The story
Fässle le Restaurant, at Löwenstraße 51 in Stuttgart-Degerloch, is a classic French address listed as Recommended in the Michelin Guide for 2026.
Chef and patron Patrick Giboin was born in Montargis and has cooked at the Fässle again since 2016. In 2013 he earned a Michelin star at Gasthof Krone in Waldenbuch. His French and international cooking takes its cues from the seasonal stalls of Stuttgart's weekly markets. Fresh herbs and a careful hand with spices finish each plate.
The Schlemmer Atlas gave the restaurant 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026 and singled out French classics such as oysters, scallops and veal tartare. Children's menus are offered too. Pastry chef Fabian Schönhofer has a clear weakness for chocolate. Sommelière Claudia Johnson pours German and international wines alongside the Maître, Pascal Foechterlé.
The house dates from around 1900, and its listed dining room keeps a wraparound wooden bench, coloured glass windows and an old counter cabinet with carved trim. The main room seats about 35. Next door, the small Salon Toulouse-Lautrec can be reserved for private dinners, and the door closes for discreet business lunches. The Blauer Salon, added in 2000, takes up to 30 guests and has its own entrance. In warm months the terrace opens in the middle of Degerloch.
