The story
Mokuli is a casual fine dining restaurant and bar at Fritz-Fend-Straße 4 in Regensburg, Germany, where the French kitchen earned a Michelin Recommended listing in 2026. The restaurant pairs a relaxed bar with a menu that moves between à la carte and set courses.
Martin Kagerer cooks in a room designed around Feng Shui principles, with the kitchen open at its center. Guests can watch the cutting, plating and tasting as it happens, and the restaurant says the kitchen is deliberately on show. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded the restaurant 3 Kochlöffel in 2026.
Der Feinschmecker describes creative cooking with Mediterranean influences that is light and highly aromatic. A vegetable salad with truffle and pumpkin seeds rests on a gelled tomato essence and finishes with yuzu. Label Rouge salmon arrives with chanterelles and caviar in a buttermilk-vegetable broth, while beef fillet is served over Fregola Sarda with Pata Negra ham.
Soaring ceilings, colorful seating and large paintings surround the open cooking station. The bar works as a place to start the evening, and the wine list holds around 50 labels from Europe, with non-alcoholic pairings alongside. Menus come in omnivore and vegetarian versions, in four or six courses.
