The story
Hofgut Ruppertsberg is a French restaurant at Obergasse 2 in Ruppertsberg, in the Neustadt an der Weinstraße area, and it holds 2,5 Kochlöffel in the 2026 Schlemmer Atlas. The historic estate sits on the edge of the village and combines a small farm, a farm shop, a tea house and the dining room.
The Schlemmer Atlas singles out the menus, a cheese trolley, an in-house patisserie and a list of 700 wines. The estate describes its cooking as having its own style, one that leads guests to forgotten varieties, the stories of the farmers behind the produce and some very large wines. The tags point to an organic, vegetarian-friendly approach.
Cheese gets real attention here. The estate's website devotes an essay to Salat Tradition, a raw-milk cheese made by Charlotte Salat in the Cantal from the milk of Salers cows. That sort of detail suggests a kitchen that follows its ingredients back to the producer. Next door, the farm shop sells organic groceries for the weekly shop.
The grounds run from a deliberately wild picnic meadow to herb gardens among the vines, bordered by rosemary hedges. A neoclassical garden surrounds the pleasure pavilion and tea house, which dates from 1844.
